Re: best mixer?
Sat, March 13, 2004 - 6:13 AMMackie is the best one around these days. And they make 'em in whatever size you need. Others are good but Mackie is best. -

Re: best mixer?
Sun, March 21, 2004 - 4:32 AMI use a Behringer Eurorack on the road. Been happy with it and the price was just right. Has a higher noise floor than the Mackie line, but Mackie faders aren't as loose and easy to mix. At half the price of similar Mackie deals, you should look at this. They make turntablist gears too:

Re: best mixer?
Mon, March 22, 2004 - 2:16 PMI axed my DJ friends and many of them use Roland mixers for the control and the onboard effects. The fader seems pretty damn smooth, though I'm no turntablist. -

Re: best mixer?
Mon, March 29, 2004 - 1:15 AMMackies? Cummon. Midas Consoles, bro. I'll take them over Neve, SSL, maybe even Studer. Nobody can fing or afford a Gamble, so then it's Midas. For DJ's Urei, Ecler's SCLAT series. Not cheap, not prosumer, the real deal. Seeka nd ye shall find.

Re: best mixer?
Thu, April 1, 2004 - 3:54 PMNot the SCLAT series. TTM56 is gimmicks. The SCLAT is a pro mixer, like big studio desks with discreet modular channels. You're still in a different market. Best consumer...maybe Rane, but not for high-end or broadcast quality.

Re: best mixer?
Sun, July 11, 2004 - 8:34 PMMaybe if you're opening a club, but try to sell it later... I remember someone I knew who brought a 16mm editor for 2OK+ then a belt inside the thing broke and realize he has going to get reemed fixing it. Midas and SCLAT are for those who can write them off. Trying to sell industrial equip is a pain. Panasonic or Tascam, the rane look like a battle mixer. -

Re: best mixer?
Wed, September 29, 2004 - 1:31 PMfirst of all what are you going to use the mixer for? next would be what kind of sounding music will be played through this mixer...scratch battle setup, blend club set up, are you using inserts, TBP's, seperate pre's, a mic for emcees, kaos pad perhaps instead of on-board TBP's. And then i would love to help you? I ve been doing this shit for a while and have my ears to the steets and studio gossip...let me know
